In 2020, Brandon Thomas began his journey creating songs only using loops on Magix Music Maker with the intent to create his own music. After he finished his first song Flying High he told himself, “I don’t want to keep this to myself, I want to share this with the world.” Little did the 13 year old middle school student know that these words would mark the start of a journey that would take him to many places. Throughout the year he would continue to produce songs only using loops on Magix Music Maker sharing his music with his friends and family and would later begin posting his songs on SoundCloud.
In 2021 Brandon shifted from using the basic software to using an online DAW known as Soundtrap where his musical craft would begin to evolve from just using loops to creating his own melodies. In late 2021 the young producer got his own copy of FL Studio from his parents for Christmas, unlocking a door to endless possibilities of creations.
In mid 2022 Brandon released his single Hiding on to all streaming platforms marking his first ever multi-platform self release, establishing the moniker “Guy Coolid”. Throughout the year he would release more self releases such as “Egypt” and “Is It Gonna Be” that would lay the foundations of his recognizable signature sound in the future bounce genre.
In 2023, Guy Coolid continued to put out more self releases, expanding the genres he produces, along with releasing his first ever unofficial remix of Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night” on his SoundCloud. He would also make his debut on Velocity Music, a small record label based in Finland, with his single “Oasis” which became his first song to be signed with a label.
In 2024 he continued to expand his brand to other genres of EDM, releasing his first progressive house single “Take Me Home”, which reached 5K views on YouTube in a little over a week, “Is It Gonna Be Pt. II” as his 3rd original future bounce release and his debut on Riverside Records as an example to show how much he improved since his early days, “Puzzle” as his first melodic dubstep song that he released on Spiration Music and has since then reached over 30k streams on Spotify, and 2 more notable songs like “Here With Me” and “Everything We Love” which crossed 2k streams on spotify.
2025 however would be the dominating year of his musical journey so far, starting the year off with his 6th future bounce single “What We Had” in collaboration with Tex_s released via HORZION RCRDS surpassing 2k streams on Spotify and 3k streams on SoundCloud, but that was just the start of what was to come. On March 3rd, 2025, Guy Coolid released his remix of Turned Around’s song “Be In Love” receiving support by MNTN Selections on Youtube and various other artists as well as becoming his most streamed release ever on his SoundCloud to this day with over 6k streams. In the same month he released his single Now That I Need Ya which gained a large support as an ID featured on HORZION RCRDS and received even greater support across SoundCloud, YouTube and Spotify. After what was thought to be a remix with wasted potential after losing his 3rd remix competition (2nd time making it to the finals) he would find the worth of his song “Anxiety” released via Futurized Records as part of an 8 track EP in collaboration with MNTN Selections, Swerve Collective Creations, and Quadron Records titled “Future Bounce Never Died Vol. 3”. Later in the year he released his song “The Ones I’ve Loved” in collaboration with SMALLS via MNTN Selections along with his debut bass house EP TUNNEL VISIONS EP, and his first Christian EDM song “You’re Enough” on God’s Nation in collaboration with Blehjiro Sakyoku and NeoMick as part of a 28 track album WE GO CHURCH.
In the past few years he has also released on labels like Solvana Records, TON-618, and Future House Cloud with releases like “Let You Go”, “Take A Step”, and “Feelings For You” with Orexo. He has also released a song as part of a collaborative charity album for Flatbush Cats.
While continuing to work on his music production, he is currently attending college courses working towards a degree in music production with plans to work as an audio engineer while doing music on the side.
