School Sport

At Guthrie Street Primary School our students have the opportunity to participate in numerous sporting activities. Most of which are held on weekends known as weekend sport. These sports include football, soccer (F-2) and netball, these are mainly set for our 3-6 students and are played in the winter season. Basketball is played during the weeknights in both Summer and Winter. Netball for our foundation to grade 2 students is called Net-Set-Go and is usually ran at lunchtimes during school time. Cricket is played in the Sheppparton area in Summer and students will join independent clubs, with some games on Friday nights and Saturday mornings.

Our school works in partnership with community organisations and services to take action and participate in activities that support gender equality and respectful relationships

Athlete Development Program (ADP)

The Guthrie Street Athlete Development Program is a full time integrated academic and sporting program for selected grade 5 & 6 students. ADP focuses on Australian Football, Basketball, Athletics, Soccer and Netball. This program allows young male and female student athletes to develop their sporting talent while receiving their Primary Education concurrently. The Program is facilitated by our Physical Education teacher Ian Wright. At the end of each year students participate in trials for the ADP program. Each sport accepts around 6-8 students. Successful students then participate in 30-45 minutes of their sport each week, with a focus on improving team work, skills and conditioning.

Term 1 & 2
