Short Academic Bio
I received my bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and my Master's in Industrial Automation from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2017 and 2020, respectively. In 2025, I received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. During my PhD, I was part of the Explainable Robotics Lab (ERL) and SWARMS lab, both of which are part of the joint lab Autonomous and Intelligent Robotics Laboratory AIRLab. I was mentored by Prof. Cristian-Ioan Vasile (Cristi). I also worked closely with Prof. David Saldaña. During the summer of 2024, I was an intern at MERL (Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories) under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Di Cairano.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Human-Oriented Robotics and Control Lab (HORCLab) at the University of Delaware.
Misc:
I love playing and watching basketball.
During high school, while pursuing my bachelor's and master's degrees, I played for the varsity team and received multiple sports scholarships.
Additionally, I was on a basketball club called UBC in Colombia.
Some of my closest friends today are from the years I played basketball in Colombia.
Nowadays, I only play to have fun and connect with new friends. (Pictures below were taken during my internship at MERL)
