I’m Gustavo “Gus” Avila, owner and manager at Gus Mechanical Force. For over 18 years, I’ve been solving the toughest equipment repairs for mining, construction, and industrial operations in Northeastern Nevada. My journey began with P&H Mine Pro which was purchased by Joy Global and eventually became Komatsu. I started as a mechanic helper and worked my way up to a mechanic, then to a lead person where I ran big projects on equipment and finally to a superintendent. I was fortunate to be able to travel all over the US and Mexico with this position.

I enjoyed working closely with account managers and customers as a superintendent. But after years of seeing how big companies operate—overloaded with jobs and often slow to respond—I knew I could do better.

I left the corporate world to start my own repair service, focused on delivering fast, reliable, and efficient solutions.
