Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Gurucharitra app (the "Application") for Android devices, created by Rampriti Production (the "Service Provider"). The Application is free and supported by advertising. It is provided "AS IS".
This policy is effective as of 2026-10-06.
1. Information the Application uses
The Application has no user accounts and no sign-in. It does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.
a) Information stored only on your device
- Your last-read page and adhyay, so you can continue reading where you left off.
- Your settings, such as audio-reading preferences.
- The daily devotional notification content and schedule.
This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the Application.
b) Information collected automatically by third-party services
- Advertising: Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and operating-system information, and how you interact with ads. This is used to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and prevent fraud.
- App version check: the Application reads the latest available version number from Google Firebase so it can tell you when an update is available. No personal information is sent for this.
- Google Play services: used for in-app updates and purchases, and they may collect device information as described in Google's privacy policy.
The Application does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, files or microphone audio. Audio reading uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine.
2. Advertising and your consent
The Application shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of the screen and, occasionally, an ad page between two chapters (adhyays). Audio reading of the first adhyay each day is free; to listen to more that day, you may choose to watch one short rewarded ad. Watching it is always optional. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region where consent is required, the Application asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ads are requested. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the Application's menu: "जाहिरात गोपनीयता सेटिंग्ज" (Ad privacy settings). If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads where the law allows it.
On any Android device you can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings under Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads).
3. Purchases and donations
Voluntary support (donations) inside the Application is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. The Service Provider never receives or stores your card or payment details. It receives only a confirmation that the purchase succeeded.
4. Notifications and permissions
The Application asks for the following permissions:
- Notifications, to send one daily devotional reading. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
- Exact alarms, to deliver that reading at the scheduled time.
- Internet, for ads, update checks and purchases.
5. Third-party services
These services have their own privacy policies:
- Google Play Services: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdMob: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
- Google Firebase (Realtime Database): https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Play Billing: https://payments.google.com/payments/apis-secure/u/0/get_legal_document?ldo=0&ldt=privacynotice
The Service Provider does not sell your personal information.
6. Disclosure
The Service Provider may disclose information:
- when required by law, for example to comply with a court order or similar legal process;
- when it believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect its rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- to trusted service providers who work on its behalf, who have no independent use of the information and who have agreed to follow this policy.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Data stored on your device is removed when you uninstall the Application.
- Data collected by Google for advertising is kept according to Google's own policies.
8. Children
The Application is a general-audience devotional app and is not directed at children under 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact rampritiproduction@gmail.com and it will be deleted.
9. Security
The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect your information. All communication with Google and Firebase services is encrypted. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Application after a change means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact
If you have any questions about privacy in the Application, contact the Service Provider at rampritiproduction@gmail.com.
