Welcome to Gujarati Calendar ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Orenda Labs. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you download, install, register with, access, or use the Gujarati Calendar mobile application (the "App"), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
The primary purpose of our App is to provide an accurate Gujarati Hindu calendar, Panchang, Choghadiya timings, festival information, and localized sunrise/sunset calculations. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not download, install, or use this App.
The App does not require account registration or login. We do not directly collect, request, or store any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or contacts. Any settings or preferences you choose are stored locally on your device.
To calculate accurate astronomical events (e.g., local Sunrise, Sunset, Tithi transitions, Moonrise, and Choghadiya timings), the App requests access to your device's GPS coordinates (precise fine or coarse network-based location).
Privacy Assurance: Your location coordinates are processed strictly locally on your device. We do not transmit, share, or store your location details on our servers or with any third parties. If you select a pre-defined city from our Indian cities list, all times are calculated locally.
To ensure application security, prevent unauthorized modifications, and check if the APK has been tampered with or repackaged maliciously, the App reads basic application metadata (such as package name and version) locally. No personal user data is read or collected during this process.
When you use the App, integrated third-party services (such as mobile analytics and advertising networks) may automatically collect certain device and usage data. This data generally does not directly identify you and is collected via standard Software Development Kits (SDKs):
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, system language, and unique advertising identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID).
Usage Metrics: App launch frequency, screen views, interactions with features, and session duration.
Technical Logs: IP address (used to infer broad country/region location) and connection type.
Performance & Diagnostics: Firebase Crashlytics logs, device state at the time of a crash, and stack traces.
We use trusted third-party SDKs to keep the App free through ads, monitor stability, and understand user flows. These third parties collect and process data in accordance with their own policies:

Google AdMob: Serves banner and interstitial advertisements. AdMob uses device Advertising IDs and cookies to serve ads, which may include personalized ads depending on your consent status. (https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543)

Firebase Crashlytics: Records diagnostic crash logs so we can quickly patch software bugs. (https://firebase.google.com/terms/crashlytics)
We and our third-party partners use the collected information to:
Provide Core Functionality: Processing your selected coordinates locally to show accurate Panchang, Choghadiya, and Sunrise/Sunset times.
Serve Advertisements: Displaying banner or interstitial ads via AdMob to fund ongoing maintenance.
Improve Stability: Using anonymous crash reports to resolve bugs.
Understand App Usage: Reviewing aggregate analytics to make the user interface more intuitive.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you are entitled to specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK Data Protection Act:
User Consent: We comply with Google's EU User Consent Policy. For users in the EEA/UK, the App displays a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) dialog. Personalized advertising is only served if you explicitly opt-in.
Your Rights: Since we do not store PII on our servers, we cannot locate individual records to delete or export. However, you can control local permissions, clear app storage, or reset your Advertising ID directly in your device settings.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information:
Opt-Out of "Sale" or "Sharing": The use of third-party advertising SDKs (like AdMob) that track identifiers across apps may be considered "selling" or "sharing" under California law. You can opt-out of personalized ads by resetting your Advertising ID or enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" in your Android device's settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
Right to Know and Delete: Because all personal settings, location history, and calculations are kept locally on your device, you can delete all collected info instantly by clearing the App's cache and data or uninstalling the App.
Our App is a general audience application. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data (or if third-party services have inadvertently collected it), please contact us at orendalabs0008@gmail.com so we can take immediate corrective actions to request removal from third-party systems.
The App requests the following permissions to support core functionality. We adhere strictly to the principle of least privilege:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Used to read precise GPS coordinates. Necessary to calculate exact local astronomical events (Tithi, Sunrise, Sunset, Moonrise).
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: Network-based approximate location, used as a fallback.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to display daily Panchang alerts, Choghadiya transitions, and festival reminders.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Automatically schedules daily local alarms and notifications when the device is rebooted.
WAKE_LOCK: Required temporarily by the system to ensure that alarms trigger exactly on schedule even when the screen is off.
Note: You can deny or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
We do not sell, rent, or lease personal information to third parties. Automatically collected device metrics are shared securely with Google/Firebase for analytics and ads as detailed in Section 3. Local app data (preferences/settings) is retained as long as the App is installed and is completely deleted when the App is uninstalled.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal obligations. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
