Welcome to Guitar Fretboard Chords (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information while providing guitar chord lookup, mode browsing, chord progressions, reverse lookup, saved records, and subscription features.
Please read this Policy carefully before using the App. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
Based on the current design of the App, the App does not require you to register an account and does not require you to provide identity information such as your real name, phone number, or government identification number.
The App may currently handle the following categories of information:
Usage preferences and feature data stored locally on your device, such as:
Favorited chords
Recently viewed chords
Language preference
Daily reverse-lookup usage count for non-premium users
Subscription-related status information associated with Apple in-app purchases, such as:
Whether you have purchased a subscription or unlocked premium features
Purchased product identifiers and subscription status
Information related to system-level actions that you actively initiate, such as:
Opening the system mail app after tapping "Send Feedback"
Opening the system share sheet after tapping "Share App"
Triggering Apple's in-app rating prompt after tapping "Rate App"
The information we handle mainly comes from the following sources:
Actions you take inside the App.
Preference settings and feature records stored locally on your device (such as via UserDefaults).
Purchase, restore-purchase, and subscription-status capabilities provided by Apple through StoreKit / the App Store.
The App stores certain necessary data locally on your device in order to function properly and improve your experience, including the following:
Used to:
Show the chords you have favorited.
Show the chords you have recently viewed.
Help you quickly continue practicing or reviewing chords later.
Used to:
Remember the interface language you selected manually.
Continue displaying the App in that language the next time you open it.
Used to:
Record the number of reverse lookups used by a non-subscriber during the current calendar day.
Notify you to try again the next day or upgrade to premium features after the limit is reached.
The information above is stored locally on your device by default. It is not used to build user profiles and is not used for advertising.
The App offers subscription-based or one-time premium unlock features. In the current project, these include weekly, monthly, yearly, and lifetime unlock options.
When you purchase, restore purchases, or check subscription status:
The payment process is handled by the Apple App Store.
We do not directly receive your bank card number, Apple ID password, or other payment credentials.
Based on the transaction result and subscription status returned by Apple, the App updates your local premium-user status to control access to extended chords, full mode access, more progressions, and reverse-lookup limits.
Information processing related to payments, refunds, billing, taxes, Apple accounts, and similar matters is also subject to Apple's own policies.
Based on the current implementation of the project, the App may use the following third-party or system capabilities:

Load purchasable products
Complete purchases
Restore purchases
Verify current subscription status
Used to:
Trigger the system rating prompt inside the App
Used to:
Open the system mail app when you actively choose "Send Feedback"

Open linked pages such as the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service inside the App
Except in the following circumstances, we do not actively sell your personal information to third parties:
When Apple must process your purchase, restore-purchase, or similar subscription action that you actively initiate;
When required by laws, regulations, courts, or governmental authorities;
When necessary to protect the lawful rights and interests of the developer, users, or the public.
In the current version, we have not identified any self-hosted server uploads, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, third-party login systems, or account-based data collection. If new third-party services are added in the future, we may update this Policy as appropriate.
Local preference and feature data is generally kept on your device until:
You actively delete the relevant data;
You uninstall the App; or
Your system clears local data.
Subscription status is based on information provided by Apple and the locally synchronized result on your device.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you generally have the following rights:
To understand what information we handle;
To delete the App's data on your device (for example, by uninstalling the App or clearing local data);
To modify local preferences such as language settings;
To manage subscriptions, turn off auto-renewal, or request refunds through your Apple account, where applicable.

If you are a minor, please use the App only after your parent or legal guardian has read and agreed to this Policy. Guardians should provide appropriate guidance regarding subscription purchases, feedback emails, and other actions taken by minors.
We may update this Privacy Policy based on product changes, legal or regulatory requirements, or operational needs. The updated version will be made available through in-app links, pages, or other reasonable means.
If an update involves material changes, we will try to provide a more prominent notice.
