The Fender Stratocaster, one of the most iconic guitars on the market, is known not only for its beautiful musical tone, but also for its stunning appearance. If you're looking to get a Stratocaster but can't decide what color Strat you want, we've got you covered with a list of the 15best Stratocaster colors (in our opinion).
The Olympic White Strat is simple yet beautiful in its own right. It is available in several versions, most notably the American Professional and Jimi Hendrix editions.
As its name suggests, the Penny Stratocaster features a unique chrome copper coloration. It's a very polarizing guitar; most people either love it or hate it. We fall into the "love it" category; it's a beautiful and unique tone.
The Ultraburst is very similar to the Chocolate Sunburst, and possibly better-looking. You'll see a good deal of "burst" designs on this list, as they are among the most popular Strat colorations, and for good reason. We like the Rosewood fretboard model the best, but they also make one with maple.
Another burst, no surprise. The Mocha Burst Strat comes with a maple fretboard and gleaming finish and is, as a result, an eye-catching instrument.
Transparent Cherry, Candy Apple Red and Hot Rod Red deserve an honorable mention, but it's the bright red tone of Fiesta Red that we like the best.
Up until now, no blue guitars have made our list of the top 15 best Stratocaster colors. That changes with the Cobra Blue American Strat, which has a shimmering Blue coat of paint that looks great.
The second precious metal-inspired color on this list, the Diamond Anniversary Edition Gold Stratocaster looks exactly how it sounds; even the head is gold. It features a maple neck and fretboard to round out a great design.
The Dark Night Stratocaster is incredibly unique. It's loosely based on the sunburst design; the edges are blue, and fade into a very dark blue/black. Complete with a rosewood neck, this one's a beauty.
Texas Tea is another singular Strat design. It's a dark brown, almost black, the color of sweet tea (hence the name). It comes with a gold pick guard, which provides really nice contrast, and a maple neck.
The second blue tone to make this list, Daphne Blue is the much-lighter counterpart to Cobra Blue. It comes with a white pickguard and maple neck/fretboard.
Yet another metal on the list, Mercury is different in that it fades from dark to light in a burst pattern. The darker rosewood fretboard rounds out the look nicely.
Roasted Pine is a simple and natural look, and a good one at that. It comes with a black pickguard to complete the simplistic design. The Swamp Ash Natural deserves an honorable mention, but we like Roasted Pine just a little bit better.
Miami Blue is an eye-catching, vibrant shade of blue. It comes with a maple fingerboard and neck, and a khaki pickguard for a nice contrast.
You may not have expected to see orange make the list of the 15 best Stratocaster colors, but here it is. Capri Orange is an eye-catching, simple tone. For that reason, we love it.
The first runner up, Aged Cherry Burst is just beautiful; what more can be said? It's one of the best takes on the burst style, and comes with a maple neck and fretboard and black pickguard.
It's a tall order to pick the best Stratocaster color out of the entire catalog, but we've tried our best. The end result: the Sienna Sunburst. Its design speaks for itself. The color pattern and wood grain showing through make for a top-notch design, the best available in our humble opinion.
