There are so many ways to get involved in our school community! On this page you'll find a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities and several more ways to give time, treasure, and talents to benefit our school. We can't do it without you!

Kroger Plus Card - Set and Forget!

Log into your Kroger card account using the app or Kroger website. Go to your name > My Account > Community Rewards > enter Guion Creek Elementary School.

That's it! From that point on, your purchases will add up for GCES!

Download the Box Tops app, select Guion Creek Elementary School, and use referral code X1ZH7RGW to earn extra points.
Buy participating products.
Scan your receipt or submit a digital receipt within 14 days of purchase.
The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to GCES!

If you’ve connected your Box Tops and Walmart accounts and you buy participating products at Walmart using the saved payment method in your Walmart wallet, you’ll earn Box Tops for our school — no scanning required.

Box Tops earnings add up, and the more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. Together, we can help make a big difference for our teachers and students!

Attend: PTO meeting

Research shows that students with involved caregivers have more successful outcomes. Come to our monthly meeting to share ideas and input on how we can support our students, staff, and families, or to simply hear about what's going on at GCES.

Attend: DINE OUT FUNDRAISER

We aim to organize a "Dine Out Night" with a local restaurant each month. Usually held on a Thursday, the partner restaurant will donate a portion of sales back to GCES. Just mention GCES or Guion Creek at the register. Take a night off from cooking and earn money for our school! Previous partners include Lou Malnati's, Fazoli's, Skateland, and more.

VOLUNTEER: TEACHER TREATS

Our wonderful Teacher Treat organizers come up with creative monthly themes to treat our staff. Sometimes this is a fun food station set-up, a large pitch-in, or a snack trolly.

You can volunteer to purchase items for the food station or trolly (reimbursable), donate items, or cook a dish for a pitch-in.

2-3 hours/month

VOLUNTEER: POPCORN FRIDAY

Spend a Friday morning at the school fulfilling popcorn orders. This easy volunteer opportunity lets you contribute to one of our most popular and successful fundraisers. Students and staff may purchase 1 or 2 bags of popcorn for $1 per bag.

More hands make for quicker work--we aim to have 5-6 volunteers to count money, fill popcorn bags, and deliver bags to classrooms. Depending on the number of volunteers, we aim to finish up by 11/11:30. Join us for a full shift (8:15 a.m. until we finish), or an hour or two--whatever you can give.

Spirit Wear: When you purchase Spirit Wear from our partner vendor, a portion of sales is donated back to GCES PTO. We aim to organize a sale each semester.

Popcorn Friday: Allowing your student to purchase 1 or 2 bags of popcorn helps PTO cover the expense of this fun, monthly tradition. All profit goes right back to supporting students and staff.

Dine Out Nights: When you attend a Dine Out fundraiser, 10-20% of the money you spend with the restaurant is donated to Guion Creek. We appreciate you!

Family Nights: Sharing a meal is a fantastic way to bring communities together. PTO often sells food (usually a combo meal) at GCES family events. After our food expenses are covered, the remaining funds raised go right back to supporting students and staff!

Every individual has unique skills and passions that can enrich our school community. Are you highly organized? A great photographer, a DJ? Handy with a Cricut? Do you own a small business, or know someone who does? Are you well-connected in the community? Are you interested in taking the lead for a PTO committee?

We invite you to share your gifts--the possibilites are endless!
