A simple overview of robotics

Robotics is a research area at the interface of computer science and engineering. Robotics involves the design, construction, and operation of a robot. The goal of robotics is to design intelligent machines that can help and assist humans. To get into robotics we recommend taking an online course or even joining a robotics group! FIRST has all sorts of competitions including FLL, FTC, and FRC. First Lego League has multiple subcategories allowing 1st graders all the way up to 8th graders to enjoy making Lego robots. The First Tech Challenge (what we participate in) is the next step with an age range of grades 7-12. The First Robotics Competition is for high school students to compete with industrial-sized robots for a chance to win a scholarship.
