Taxi Equipment Needed

As a Company Car Driver 

1. Card Reader

2. A Phone with a decent Data Plan (for Card Reader and Google Maps etc - plus for killing time!)

3. Phone Charging Cable!

4. A Torch (useful for finding House names & numbers! - a large Maglite has dual use possibilities!)

5. A Float in cash (coins & notes, still useful! - suggest 20x£1, 10x£5 and 5x£10 - plus fiver in mixed coins)

6. A Taxi Book (to record Takings - mistakes can happen with Company Systems).

7. A Taxi Bag! (so can easily stuff in your personal equipment etc to remove from Vehicle so doesn't get "lost"!)

Anything that comes with the Company Car is likely "tired"! The following additional Owner equipment should come with the Company Car. 

As an Owner Driver (own Taxi & Purple Plate)

1. Yellow Roof Sign (must light up! - suggest both connected to the Meter to automatically turn off when hired and an additional manual switch)

2. TaxiMeter (Fitted & Calibrated before inspection by DVS)

3. Card Reader (must be operational!)

4. Fare Tariff Card (must be displayed in Taxi - Velcro works well!)

5. MAX Passengers Licensed to Carry Sticker (to front l/h side wing or l/h side of roofsign)

6. Child Booster Seat 

7. Disability Access Aids:

• Swivel Cushion (of "limited" real world use)

• Door Grab Handle / "Caddie Strap" / "Door Handybar" (a Handybar has dual use possibilities!) 

• Door Threshold Strips (High Viz non-slip Tape or paint)

Suggested:-

"Hop up" Step.
