GuessLab Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-07
This policy explains information handling in GuessLab (com.cginsolution.guesslab). Contact the publisher at CGINSolution@gmail.com for privacy, support or deletion requests. The app integrates Firebase Authentication, Firebase Realtime Database, Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
GuessLab Terms of Use
Local play does not require an email address, password or a registered profile. Player names are used for the game session. The app saves preferences, including theme, sound effects, vibration and family mode, and local totals for games and wins. Custom image copies and their file paths are saved in the app’s private storage. These items support gameplay and restore your settings. The app also saves an ad-frequency counter, the most recent completed-match identifier, unlocked category IDs and advertising consent choices on your device. Rewarded unlocks remain on this installation; clearing app data or reinstalling may remove them, subject to Android backup/restore.
When you choose custom images through Android’s system file picker, GuessLab copies only the selected files into its private storage for a local category. It does not upload these images to GuessLab online rooms or Firebase. It does not request broad photo-library, camera, microphone, contacts or precise-location permission. A cloud-backed file provider you choose may download the original through that provider. Custom categories are local, not shared online.
Android backup is enabled in the current app. Depending on your device, operating system and backup settings, preferences and app files, including custom image copies, may be included in an operating-system backup or device transfer. These services follow the policies of Google or your device provider. This differs from an upload by GuessLab to a game room.
Opening online features can create or reuse a Firebase anonymous authentication account. Anonymous sign-in means you do not provide an email or password to play; its persistent identifier is not the same as fully anonymized data. The online service processes that identifier, a chosen display name, room code, selected category, creation time, card assignments, player readiness, active player, turn timing, game status and selected winner. These data authenticate participants and synchronize a two-player session.
Waiting rooms are listed publicly to online users. Other users can see the room code, host’s display name, category and waiting status; the listing also contains creation time. A room code is an entry method, not a privacy setting. Participants can see display names and shared game state. Technical room records also contain participant identifiers; waiting-room records are accessible to authenticated users under the current access rules. Use a nickname rather than a real name, address or other sensitive information. The game interface manages hidden cards for gameplay, not for storing confidential content.
Google/Firebase provides authentication and database hosting. It also processes technical information such as IP addresses and user-agent information for service operation and security. The database is configured in the United States (us-central1); processing may take place outside your country. See Firebase’s privacy documentation and Google’s Privacy Policy through the links below. We use session information to provide rooms and turns, prevent misuse, diagnose reported problems and answer requests.
GuessLab uses Google AdMob banners, interstitials at breaks after every five completed matches, and optional rewarded ads that unlock a selected category. The current development builds use Google test ad IDs. Ad requests require internet. Google's ads SDK can process IP-derived approximate location, device identifiers, interactions and diagnostic data for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. UMP requests consent where required before ads are requested; Settings includes ad privacy choices when Google requires them. Your choices, region and Google's settings affect ad personalization. Android settings also provide advertising-ID controls. See Google's Privacy Policy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. GuessLab does not send your imported images or player names to AdMob. There is no Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics SDK integration or built-in voice/text chat. If you email support, we receive your email and message.
Local settings and custom files remain until app data is cleared, the files are otherwise removed or the app is uninstalled. Choosing a different custom set may not remove older imported copies. Backups may persist separately. Room cleanup attempts to remove the host’s room, public entry and private assignments when the host leaves or disconnects; a departing guest’s records are removed separately. Cleanup is not an immediate-deletion guarantee, and leftover records can remain until removal succeeds or they are deleted by the publisher. Anonymous authentication accounts are not deleted by leaving a room or uninstalling. The current app has no automatic expiry policy for these accounts. Provider logs and backups follow Firebase’s documented retention. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
You can use local play, decline image selection, leave an online room, change device backup settings and clear local app data in Android Settings. Clearing storage removes local preferences, statistics and imported copies, not originals in your gallery or existing cloud records. To request access, correction or deletion of online data and its associated anonymous account, email CGINSolution@gmail.com with the subject “GuessLab data deletion” or describe the right you want to exercise. Include a room code if available, your display name and approximate session date/time. Do not send passwords or identity documents. We may request minimal additional information to locate records and verify the request. Anonymous records can be difficult to associate with you once local app data is lost; contact us before clearing it if possible. We will explain any identification limits or lawful retention exceptions. There is no in-app account deletion button in the current version.
Where applicable, processing needed to provide requested gameplay relies on performance of the service; security and support may rely on legitimate interests, subject to your rights; legal obligations may require limited retention. Where consent is legally required, it must be obtained for the relevant processing. Depending on your location, you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a competent authority. Contact the email above to exercise them; we respond within applicable legal deadlines. No payment is required for an ordinary rights request, subject to lawful exceptions.
Use must respect applicable age and parental-authorization requirements. Where a child cannot lawfully authorize the relevant data processing, a parent or guardian must be involved and any legally required safeguards must be in place before online use. We do not ask for a date of birth or verify age in this version. Public rooms can include strangers; family mode is a category filter, not age verification, parental consent or moderation. Parents or guardians who believe a child supplied data without required authorization can contact us to request review and deletion.
Firebase connections use encryption, authentication and database rules. No system guarantees complete security. The publisher and providers process information to operate the service, investigate abuse, meet lawful obligations and answer requests. Google also processes ad-related information as described above; the publisher does not sell player names or imported images to advertisers.
We update this policy and its date when data practices change. Material changes will receive notices or consent as required by applicable law. External websites and services have their own policies.
