Georgetown University Club Equestrian competes in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 4 Region 1
Where?
We take lessons at The Other Left in Burtonsville, Maryland, training by Star Dalley and Corie Bacher 4700 Sandy Spring Road, Burtonsville, MD, United States, Maryland (About 45 minutes from campus)
We hold riding tryouts during the first few weeks of the Fall and Spring semesters at The Other Left. To attend a riding tryout, you will need to contact a club executive member or the club directly. Our coach will observe and evaluate riders to make determinations about who is accepted onto the team.
Riders are expected to attend one lesson a week with one allowed lesson swap per semester. Please allocate 3-5 hours from start to finish on any given lesson day. Please notify us if you will be missing/ swapping any lessons at least a week in advance.
Dues start at $700 per semester, which covers the basic lessons package at The Other Left in Burtonsville, Maryland (Pricing Subject to Change). Dues do not include personal equipment, merchandise, or social events.
IHSA Zone 4 Region 1 hosts 6-10 shows over the fall and spring semesters at American University, Goucher College, George Mason University, University of Maryland, etc. Your performance, attendance, and division will determine showing opportunities.
Team riders have earned various blue medals & high-point rider placements in IHSA shows. Georgetown University will host 1-2 shows at The Other Left throughout the year.
