How to get to Daejeon/Using Taxi

Here are general instructions to get to Daejeon from Incheon (ICN) Airport. If you need further assistance, then feel free to contact sypark14@kaist.ac.kr.

Option 1: By Bus

• Departing from Incheon International Airport

You can take an express limousine bus to Daejeon from either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport.

• Ticket Counters: Located on the arrivals floor of each terminal.

• Information on where to buy a ticket, schedule, and fare can be found at:

(click on Choong-chung, then Daejeon)

• Bus Stops:

        Terminal 1: Bus Stop 11A or 11B

        Terminal 2: Bus Stop No.5

• Tickets: Purchase at the ticket counter.

• On the Bus

    The bus journey to Daejeon takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

     The bus will arrive at the Daejeon Government Complex.

• From the Bus Stop to KAIST/hotel

    Take a taxi from the Daejeon Government Complex to KAIST or the hotel. The taxi ride from the Daejeon Government Complex to KAIST takes about 15 minutes.

Option 2: By Train

• Departing from Incheon International Airport

     Take the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station.

• AREX Tickets: Purchase at the ticket counter or vending machines in the airport.

• Airport Railroad Information > Station Information > Seoul Station (arex.or.kr)

• From Seoul Station to Daejeon

    At Seoul Station, transfer to a KTX (Korea Train Express) bound for Daejeon.

• KTX Tickets: Purchase at the ticket counter or online in advance. KTX trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 1 hour.

• From Daejeon Station to KAIST/hotel

    Once you arrive at Daejeon Station, take a taxi to KAIST or the hotel. The taxi ride from Daejeon Station to KAIST takes approximately 20 minutes.

Additional Tips

• Luggage: Both the bus and KTX have space for luggage, but if you have large items, it may be more convenient to use the bus.
