The campus of Gebze Technical University (GTÜ) serves as a sanctuary for bird species whose natural habitats are increasingly under threat. Located at a critical point along the Western Palearctic bird migration routes, the campus boasts rich vegetation and provides a habitat for over 300 bird species, making it a unique ecosystem. This biodiversity is not only a treasure for GTÜ but also a vital resource that must be protected for the benefit of all.
The purpose of this project is to document the bird species residing within the GTÜ campus through photographs and videos while providing detailed biological and ornithological information about each species. Through this initiative, I aim to raise awareness about the significance of natural life, promote a deeper understanding of the bird species observed on campus, and inspire efforts to protect them.
