Gruppen und topologische Gruppen is a series of two-day international conferences which take place every semester since 1972 in various locations around Europe.

The topic of interest is group theory in a wide sense, including abstract algebra, discrete mathematics, module theory and the theories of Lie, algebraic, and topological groups.

The summer 2026 edition will take place from Friday, June 19th to Saturday, June 20th at TU Dresden, in Dresden, Germany.

 The conference will take place at TU Dresden University in the Willersbau building (address Zellescher Weg 12-14), in rooms WIL/A120/H (Registration and first talk) and WIL/A317/H (all other talks). The building can be accessed from Zellescher Weg 12-14 (small door to the right while facing the stairs, underneath the clockwork eye sculpture). The rooms are both in the A wing (first one after entering) and are placed in the first and third floors respectively.

The building can be reached from the main train station (HBF) either on foot (approximately 20 minutes) or by the buses 424 (direction Deutschenbora Hirschfelder Straße, one stop) , 66 (direction Altkaitz, two stops) or 360 (direction Kurort Kipsdorf Bahnhof, two stops). Alternatively it can be reached from Neustadt by taking the Straßenbahn 8 (direction Südvorstadt, two stops after HBF) or 3 (direction Coschütz, two stops after HBF). Essentially any bus or tram stopping at the main train station and going in the right direction will reach the university in at most two stops.
