Start in the classroom learning backpacking essentials—gear, meals, routes, and more—then head out a few weeks later for an overnight trip to put your skills into action. Take your first steps toward leading future troop adventures.

Wilderness Wanderers (A Wilderness Hiking & Backpacking Camp) - August 7-11 - Arrowhead
Build your skills on the water while having fun with fellow paddlers. Learn stroke techniques, practice communication and safety, try games and challenges, and even join overnight river adventures—all while developing the skills and confidence to one day lead your own Girl Scouts on future paddling trips.

Our High Adventure Mentors don’t just stick to trails and rivers — we offer a variety of unique events designed to build new skills, spark curiosity, and deepen your outdoor leadership. From hosting group climbs at local rock gyms to helping you build a road map for a successful camporee, trying cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, or gaining higher proficiency in specific outdoor skills, there’s always a fresh way to challenge yourself and grow as a leader.

Our Adult Paddle Camping trip along the Willamette River Waterway Trail was a weekend of camaraderie and adventure. 14 intrepid adventurers traveled 23 river miles from Keizer Rapids Park to the San Salvador boat launch.
Wilderness Hiking courses are 1-day events. The first half of the course is inside, learning the basics about gear and getting yourself and your troop prepared. The second half of the day is spent on the trail, engaged in experiential learning.
A fun overnight at Cleawox! Day 1 was all about getting comfortable in our canoes, learning strokes and practicing techniques on the water. Day 2 took us to the Siltcoos Lake for a fun adventure on the water!
