Grove School of Engineering
Summer PreCalculus Workshop

The Grove School of Engineering Summer PreCalculus Workshop is a summer bridge program offered by The Grove School that prepares entering freshman students at The City College of New York for acceptance into The Grove School of Engineering as entering freshman for the Fall semester. Successful completion of the summer workshop will advance the student to Calculus I and make the student eligible for freshman admissions into The Grove School of Engineering.

The summer program has traditionally been a 5-week summer immersion that is free-of-charge to participants. It runs Mondays to Thursdays, beginning at the start of July and ending in the 1st week of August. We typically have morning and afternoon sessions. Students are engaged in mastering the academic content entailed in PreCalculus and practicing their quantitative and analytical skills through problem solving sessions. It consists of instructor-facilitated workshops and self-directed learning sessions. Participants are prepared for assessments as administered by The City College of New York Department of Mathematics to demonstrate their PreCalculus proficiency. Students are also exposed to the rigors of a college curriculum and have the opportunity to work together with their college peers in a learning community before beginning their freshman year studies in the Fall semester.

Further details on this year's summer workshop has been and will be communicated to invited students based on the results of the Math Placement Exam.
