What should girls wear to camp?
Camp is an outdoor activity. Dress your camper in old clothes appropriate for the weather. We recommend a hat or bandana, socks, and sturdy shoes. No flip-flops, Crocs, rubber shoes, open-toe or heel shoes, or sandals.
I throw the clothes in the washer and dryer as soon as the campers get home, and then they wear them again the next day. Before the camp season starts at my house, I spray our camp clothes with tick repellent, and it stays on the clothes during the wash for about 6 washes. I use Permethrin Clothing and Fabric Insect Repellent, which you can usually find at Walmart.
Do girls need a lunch every day?
Yes, campers will need to bring lunch from home every day. We also suggest packing extra snacks.
Who can attend the Junior and Cadette overnight?
Juniors and Cadettes (4th- 6th graders) can stay overnight. We also need adults to stay overnight. The cost for the overnight is TBD.
What do you do overnight at camp?
After the other campers leave for the day, Juniors and Cadettes will set up their bunk and head back to HQ for dinner. After dinner, activities (this could range from swimming to a night hike). Once done with activities, we will meet for a sweet treat at HQ and head to bed with lights out by about 10:30 pm. In the morning, campers will gather their things up and head to HQ for breakfast and the start of camp. During the day, the girls come back up to grab lunch.
