Here you will locate ALL information pertaining to our Winter Dance Recital as it is released.

"Costume Pages" are class specific flyers that include a picture of your dancers selected costume as well as their classes full cost (including registration). Please keep in mind this is the FULL COST without any sibling or multi class discounts. If applicable these discounts will be manually calculated upon registration. Please see your email to locate your dancer's "Costume Page".
Dancers with 3 or more classes may request a "Multi Class Breakdown". This breakdown will provide you with your dancer's total including any applicable discounts.
Once you have determined your dancer's registration total utilizing their "Costume Page" it is time to register! Registration begins Monday October 6th and will close on Wednesday October 15th at 11:59. Please note that your dancer's full cost is due upon registration and must be paid in full prior to Wednesday October 15th at 11:59pm.
Your dancer will be measured in class prior to the conclusion of registration on Wednesday October 15th. If your dancer will be participating in the show and has not been measured by this date, please contact Miss Leilani to schedule a measurement appointment by Saturday October 11th. Once measurements have been completed your dancer will be ordered the size that most closely corresponds with their measurements.
Preparing for the Show
Now that your dancer has been registered it is time to prepare for the show! To do so your dancer will need to be in attendance for their class on a weekly basis to ensure no choreography is missed. In addition to in class attendance having your dancer review their routine(s) at home will greatly affect their confidence on stage. Attached below you will find hyperlinks to each classes' recital music organized by day of the week for your dancer to utilize for practicing.
Costume try on week
Once costumes have been inventoried it is time for try ons! Costume try ons will take place in your dancers regularly scheduled class. You will be notified via email when your dancers costume is prepped for try ons. During costume try on week we ask that your dancer come in a leotard and shorts to allow for an expedited try on process.

How to style your dancer's hair.
If their costume requires tights.
What kind/color shoes they will need.
If any additional items will need to be purchased for their costume.
Located at the bottom corner of your dancer's "costume page" you will find additional items that will need to be purchased for the show. You are welcome to purchase these items wherever you see fit so long as they match the listed requirements. However, we do have these items available to purchase. Winter Dance Recital T Shirts
Available for pre order Monday October 20th-Sunday October 26th. T Shirts are estimated to be distributed prior to dress rehearsal.
Dance Recital Tickets are sold online from Friday november 14th until Friday December 12th at 6:30pm for $16 each.
All spectators who will be occupying a seat in the audience will require a ticket for entry. Young children under the age of three who may sit on a lap will not require a ticket.
Please reference the session split below to determine which show to purchase tickets for. Your dancer will be assigned to one show unless otherwise specified.
The Summer Dance Recital will be held at Mamie Starr Theater at Ronald E. Mcnair High School.

This season we ask that any device larger than a cell phone be utilized to record only from the upper-level seating. Any spectator with a camera or video camera in the lower sections of seating will be asked to relocate to upper-level seating or stow away their camera for the remainder of the show. Failure to do so may result in removal from the audience without refund for the remainder of the show. Signage will be present inside of the theater to indicate which areas larger cameras or videos cameras are permitted. All isle ways must remain 100% clear for the full duration of the show.

Picture Day - Sunday December 7th
Summer Dance Recital picture day will be hosted here at GymStars, photographed by Capture Culture Films. Individual photos will be taken by appointment only. Please note that dancers will be accompanied by GSDC staff while their photos are being taken. All photo sessions will be closed for parent viewing.
**Upon booking a $22 sitting fee will be due to secure your dancers appointment. With this fee your dancer will be provided (1) free digital download.

Invitational, Advanced and Production classes listed below have been scheduled for a group photo. All dancers scheduled for a group photo will have an opportunity to take individual and buddy photos as well during this time.

Dress Rehearsal (Beginners) - Thursday December 11th
Classes listed below are to be stage ready (including required hair, makeup, shoes and props) by their assigned check in time. Dress rehearsal will last approximately 45-90 minutes from your check in time. Dress rehearsal is closed for parent viewing. It is important to note that the duration of dress rehearsal is dependent upon the time necessary for our dancer's feel confident with their routine once adjusted to the stage. Please ensure your dancer is prompt to avoid missing their opportunity to rehearse.
Rehearsal is mandatory to be eligible to participate in the show.

Classes listed on the schedule below will have a tech rehearsal only. This means no costumes, unless specifically requested from their instructor. Please note that rehearsal is closed for parent viewing.
Tech rehearsal will last approximately 45 minutes from your dancer's required check in time. Please reserve your dancer's entire evening in the event of delays during rehearsal. Thank you!
What should I send with my dancer to rehearsal?
All required Shoes (with initials inside)
Any required props or headpiece(s) requested by instructor
Bag for personal belongings (labeled with dancer's name)
Water
Tech Rehearsal Uniform (all styles excluding hip hop):
Leotard: Any color
Tights: Nude (not required if your dancer is only in acro)
Shorts: Spandex/Athletic Style Shorts (Any Color)
Hair: Dancer's choice (just must be fully out of their face) - Adv ballet dancers will need their hair in a bun while rehearsing ballet.
Shoes: The required shoe listed in the costume requirements (multi class dancers please bring necessary shoes for EVERY class)
**please note that any classes who do not wear tights for the show will be rehearsed last so dancers will have time to remove them if they are in multiple routines.
Tech Rehearsal Uniform (Hip Hop):
Top: T Shirt or Leotard (any color)
Bottoms: Same style as what they will be wearing for the show
Shoes: The exact shoes they will be wearing for the show
Hair: Dancer's choice (just must be out of their face)
