Sunday 10:30 AM Ministry

The 10:30 AM (formerly 11 AM) Music Ministry has a long history, with several members being involved since the beginning of our Parish. The music we provide is eclectic; it tends toward contemporary selections, but we also incorporate beloved traditional hymns. Our accompaniment usually consists of piano, bass, and guitar (we can accommodate two guitarists). We also welcome occasional additional instruments such as saxophone and flute, and in the past have also had violin and cello.

All are welcome; we value everyone who wishes to help lead this important part of worship in whatever capacity they feel comfortable. To quote our founding priest Fr. Philip Bender: “God gave you your voice; let him hear it!”

Members of the combined Sunday ensembles sing for the 2nd Sunday of Easter (2023).

Currently, Joanne Rutkowski, Pianist & Music Coordinator, selects the music one month at a time. She posts this list (see below), typically a month in advance.  The music list for each Sunday, include the names of the cantor and pianist, can also be found on the calendar.

Our Music Ministers represent a wide age range, and we welcome all! We also welcome families – you may notice other family members sitting with choir members, whether or not they wish to help lead the singing. We pride ourselves on flexibility, honoring the many other commitments of our members. For that reason, we do not hold regular rehearsals, although we schedule ad hoc rehearsals as needed. We expect the accompanists and cantors to arrive at church by 10:00 AM on Sunday so we can have a short rehearsal.

If you have questions, or would like to join and be added to our email list, please contact Joanne or Barb in the Parish Office
