Guide and unite us in our efforts, as we build community..."
'Mission Song: We Are the People', by Deacon Robert 'Bob' Killoren
Welcome to our Music Ministry homepage! Since Good Shepherd was founded in 1989, music has been an integral part of our liturgies. Over the years, our Ministry has taken on many forms, and many wonderful musicians have come and gone, but our goals haven't changed: bringing the spirit of God to the congregation through music, and have fun doing it!
Today, Good Shepherd's Music Ministry offers sung prayer in a variety of styles, while giving all the opportunity to grow and share their talents. Our groups are always looking for new members (even if you're only available sometimes). We'd invite any interested parishioners to join us -- no formal experience required!
Check out this site for more details about our Ministry!
Consisting of 4-8 vocalists, piano, guitar, percussion and (until recently) violin & mandolin, the 5 PM Music Ministry is an informal, conducted ensemble that plays folk, contemporary and (sometimes) traditional music. The group meets every Saturday at 4 PM to rehearse. All are invited to join us!

The 8:30 AM Music Ministry joyfully welcomes all who love to bring the spirit of God to the congregation through music. Piano or organ-based, and often accompanied by saxophone, the ensemble sings a mix of traditional & contemporary hymns. We have rehearsals after mass in the chapel for the following Sunday. We would love to have you join us!

The 10:30 AM (formerly 11 AM) Music Ministry has a long history, with several members being involved since the beginning of our Parish. The music we provide is eclectic; it tends toward contemporary selections, but we also incorporate beloved traditional hymns. Our accompaniment usually consists of piano, bass, and guitar (we can accommodate two guitarists) as well as violin and saxophone. In the past have also had flute and cello.
All are welcome; we value everyone who wishes to help lead this important part of worship in whatever capacity they feel comfortable. To quote our founding priest Fr. Philip Bender: “God gave you your voice; let him hear it!”
If you have questions, or would like to join and be added to our email list, please contact Joanne Rutkowski. You can also visit our page.
