This is an eco-brick bench! It is located at Redlands First United Methodist Church, (1 E Olive Ave, Redlands, CA 92373). It is made with 96 eco-bricks with the help of the church and people throughout the community. The eco-bricks that make it up are plastic water bottles firmly stuffed with plastic trash that was collected from people all over. Due to plastic being a material that is very difficult to break down and decompose, it is effective in being used as a building material. This bench was not only made to recycle and prevent more plastic trash from entering the environment, but it stands as a symbol of community from all the hands that came together to make it happen. Along with that, it encourages others to be more mindful about their personal choices they make in their everyday life that may impact the environment we live in, inspiring them to take a step forward in making a difference.
