Grunthal Soccer Club seeks to provide an affordable opportunity, primarily for youth, to have the chance to play soccer in an environment that they can be active while growing their soccer skills and love for the game.
This 2026 spring we are again excited to be a part of the Eastman Youth Soccer League ! The EYSL will be working hard to continue to make positive changes to improve the league.
We can enter teams in the U11-U18 categories. This includes kids born in 2008-2016. (some kids born in 2017 maybe taken onto a U11 team if there is room on a case by case basis - you must email us with interest and state your child's experience with soccer so far. Please do not sign them up for the league until they have been approved to do so) The goal is to have boys and girls teams where possible but in cases where we can't there maybe teams entered as co-ed teams. If you have a child with a 2017 birthday who really wants to play league soccer please email us before registering them so we can consider them after we give priority to the kids in the 2015/2016 years first.
U11 (Born 2015 or 2016) Games will be Tues/Thurs at 7pm
U13 (Born 2013 or 2014) Games will be Mon/Wed at 7pm
U15 (Born 2011 or 2012) Games will be Tues/Thurs at 7pm
U18 (Born 2008 - 2010) Games will be Mon/Wed at 7pm. This age bracket has typically been co-ed and sometimes sees two communities joining to make a team. e.g. Vita and Grunthal could perhaps join if we are short players.
The cost is $95 per player for league which includes insurance, jersey, equipment and league player fee.
Each player will need to have soccer cleats, shin guards and soccer socks.
The league will run early May (we will practice as soon as we can get onto the fields) and it runs to the end of June with a tournament to close out the season, in all age categories other than U18 who usually have play offs. Tournament date is still to be determined
As a whole league, play often consists of 1 or 2 games per week (8-10 games per season) and practices are fit in at the start of the season and on weeks when they play one game only or at the coaches discretion. This year there is some discussion on changing the way U11 is ran to help accommodate opportunities for skill building along with games. More information will be sent out as it becomes available. Practice times could increase if there's communication between the coaches and parents of the team to fit more in and the field time allows.
Games will be split between home and away games. Away games could have teams travelling to towns such as Vita, Blumenort, Steinbach, St. Anne, Anola, and Beauserjour potentially. Car pools will be up to the teams to arrange.
Coaches/assistants will be needed for each team so please send us an email to let us know if you are willing to help and we can give you the details you need and support you with training. We are also looking for referees and pay for this position and are willing to train. Please email us at grunthalyouthsoccerclub@gmail.com ASAP about these needs or indicate it in the sign-up.
