Creating a Safety First Culture
For the benefit of our all volunteers & kids, our goal is to provide a safe environment for everyone at VBS.
Volunteers 18 years old & up will need to pass a Background Check before serving with kids at VBS. You will be contacted by a church staff person if you have not already submitted a form at your local church or need to update your current info.
For this reason, we cannot allow Adult "walk-in" volunteers at VBS.

Attendance:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues. and Wed. night [all 4 nights is preferred]
Report each night at 5:30-6:30
Preparation: Attend Volunteer Orientation
Responsibilities: Be a welcoming smile, record each child's attendance as they check in each night, help with offering challenges as needed.
Crew Leaders [Elementary or Preschool group]:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues. and Wed. night [all 4 nights is preferred]
Report each night at 5:30 - 8:30
Preparation: Attend Volunteer Orientation
Responsibilities: Lead the children to each station and activities they participate in each evening.
Help with activities as needed.
Imagination Station:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues., and/or Wed. night
Report each night at 5:30 - 8:00
Preparation: Prep craft projects as needed.
Responsibilities: Help children with crafts and science-y fun gizmo activities.
Games:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues., and Wed. night
Report each night at 5:30 - 8:00
Preparation: No advanced prep
Responsibilities: Assist Games leaders as needed, Play with children during activities.
Kitchen:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed nights.
Report each night at 5:30 - 8:00
Preparation: No advanced prep
Responsibilities: Prep & serve snacks to kids & volunteers.
Prep and deliver water coolers and cups to Rec.
Greeters:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues., and Wed. night
Report each night from 5:30 - 6:30
Preparation: No advance prep.
Responsibilities: Greeters will be posted near main building
to greet children and parents when they arrive each evening.
Help kids find crew assignments and have a welcoming smile!
Bible Drama:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues., and/or Wed. night
Choose night or two based on your availability
5:30-8:00 pm
Preparation: Memorize script, gather props, rehearse as needed.
Responsibilities: Act/Teach Bible story for each group of kids.
Security/Parking:
Time commitment: Sun, Mon., Tues., or Wed. night
Report each night from 5:30 - 8:30
Preparation: No advanced prep
Responsibilities: Direct parking beginning and end of each night.
Walk around VBS grounds during VBS making sure participants are safe.
Decorating/Set Up:
Time commitment: Few days before VBS begins (about 2 hours)

Preparation: No advance prep.
Responsibilities: Help decorate Fairgrounds as needed. Set up chairs, tables.
