God’s Promises
Over 7000 promises are recorded in the bible in both the Old and New Testament. Many of the promises from God himself are promises of provisions, guidance and most importantly salvation.
Old Testament promises can be found in Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Psalms, Isaiah, and Jeremiah which illustrate God’s promises of provisions, faithfulness, and guidance.
The New Testament focuses on God’s promises particularly found in Matthew, Luke, John and Paul’s writings found in Romans, Corinthians and Philippians which speak about salvation, eternal life and the Holy Spirit.
Oftentimes when man makes promises, they may not always honor or live up to their promises, but God does not ever go back on any of his promises. To obtain his promises you simply have to obey his commands and believe in him. He simply provides us in return a lot. He gives us firstly, grace, then hope, faithfulness and best of all eternal life and salvation.
He frees us from the bonds and sins that hold us hostage or slaves to it. Whether it be drugs, alcohol, lust, sexual immorality or whatever sins that we ourselves have trouble letting go of, God gives us a way out.
He also gives us a gift of the Holy Spirit to reminds us of his deliverance and provides us with strength to overcome the temptations of sin in the future. What a mighty God we serve!
