For the second year in a row, GROW held a town hall to invite Purdue admin and CityBus to clear the air on free transit. Purdue didn't show; CityBus rep Lon Lucas gave an update on negotiations.
GLDSA hosted a May Day bowl-a-thon to raise over $500 for ROW and GROW's union efforts. UPS Teamsters, ROW, GROW, YDSA, and GLDSA gave speeches on collective labor power.
Alongside Greater Lafayette community members, local organizations, and unionized laborers, GROW conducted workshops on graduate student unionization and Purdue's off-campus transit.
GROW spoke out about institutional neglect in response to executive orders targeting international, immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ members of Purdue's community, then shared updates on transit issues.
GROW cooperated with CAPS to provide an updated graduate student survival guide in time for a mental health-focused event, preceding Mental Health Action Week.
After ROW announced their unionization effort, administration obligated them to meet behind closed doors. GROW joined the community in supporting ROW, winning their first concession.
An array of new and returning members joined GROW in starting the year, leading the charge toward a year of revitalized stewardship and relationship building.
