1. INTRODUCTION
GroupU ("we", "our", "the app") is developed by Alberto Fernández. This Privacy
Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights
regarding your data when you use the GroupU mobile application.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: If you sign in with Google, we collect your name, email
address, and profile photo through Firebase Authentication.
- In-app purchases: Purchase history is processed by Google Play Billing. We do
not store your payment details.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized information about
how you interact with the app (screens visited, game events, session duration).
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and
language settings.
- Advertising identifier: Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) may collect your Google
Advertising ID (GAID) to show personalized or non-personalized ads. You can
reset or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
- Game progress: Your puzzle completion history, streak, scores, and rankings are
stored in Google Cloud Firestore linked to your account (if signed in) or
locally on your device (if not signed in).
- Notification preferences: Your chosen daily reminder time is stored locally on
your device using Hive and is never transmitted to external servers.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
- To provide, maintain, and improve the app and its features.
- To display global rankings and leaderboards.
- To send you daily local push notifications (only if you enable them).
- To show advertisements through Google AdMob.
- To process in-app purchases.
- To analyze usage patterns and improve user experience.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
GroupU uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own
privacy policies:

5. DATA RETENTION
- Account data is retained until you delete your account.
- Local game data (Hive) is stored on your device until you uninstall the app.
- Analytics data is retained per Google Firebase's standard retention policy
(up to 14 months).
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
GroupU does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
years of age. The app does not contain content directed at children and is rated
for general audiences (PEGI 3 / Everyone).
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Opt out of personalized advertising (via Android device settings →
Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.

8. DATA SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures. Firebase services encrypt data
in transit and at rest. Local data stored via Hive is protected by Android's
application sandbox.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of
significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above.
