Groupoidfest 2019 will be held at the University of Nevada, Reno, on the weekend of November 9 and 10. This year’s Groupoidfest is special, as it celebrates the 70th birthday of Jean Renault, who initiated the groupoid approach to C*-algebras and has made landmark contributions to the understanding of groupoids in general.
The organizers of Groupoidfest 2019 are Valentin Deaconu, Alex Kumjian, Birant Ramazan, and Leonard Huang.

The conference will be held in Room 103 of the Davidson Mathematics and Science Center (DMSC), which is located near the southeast corner of the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
The UNR campus is bounded on the east by Evans Avenue, on the south by East 9th Street, on the west by North Virginia Street, and on the north by North McCarran Boulevard (Nevada State Route 659).

Welcome Reception
A welcome reception will be hosted by Bruce Blackadar at his house on November 8, Friday, starting at 6:00pm. Only light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Please inform any of the organizers if you wish to attend the reception, as car rides will be arranged to transport attendees from the DMSC to Bruce’s house, starting at 5:30pm. After the reception, car rides will be arranged to transport attendees from Bruce’s house to either their place of lodging or, if they wish to get some food, a restaurant.
Banquet
A banquet in celebration of Jean Renault’s 70th birthday will be held on November 9, Saturday, starting at 6:30pm. The venue is Palais de Jade. Please inform Valentin Deaconu if you wish to attend the banquet.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is conveniently located within the city of Reno itself.
Circus Circus Reno, Eldorado Resort Casino, and Silver Legacy Resort Casino all offer daily continuous airport-shuttle service, from 4:30am to 12:15am. Upon your arrival at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, please proceed to the baggage-claim area and follow the signage directing you to the general airport-shuttle area to board the shuttle to any of these hotels.
Likewise, the Whitney Peak Hotel offers daily continuous airport-shuttle service, from 8:00am to 10:00pm. A shuttle reservation may be made in advance by emailing a request to valet@whitneypeakhotel.com.
Alternatively, you may arrange a cab or Uber ride to your place of lodging.
On-Campus Parking
If you wish to park your vehicle on campus on a weekday, you may purchase a $3.00 daily permit to park in the Blue and Green Zones on the UNR campus, or a $5.00 daily permit to park in the West Stadium Parking Complex. Daily-permit dispensers are located on the top level of the West Stadium Parking Complex; these machines accept cash and debit/credit cards.
During the weekend, you may park your vehicle in Parking Zone S12 (a three-minute walk from the DMSC) for free.
