Grouped Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 11, 2026
Grouped is a private social photo-sharing app that allows people to create groups, invite members, and share photos and memories within those groups. This Privacy Policy explains what information Grouped collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information Grouped Collects
Account and Profile Information
Grouped collects information you provide when creating and managing your profile, including:
• Your name, display name, and username
• An optional profile photo or avatar
• An app-generated user identifier
• An optional profile location
Grouped does not request your email address, phone number, Apple ID password, or contact list to create your profile.
Groups and Membership
When you create or join a group, Grouped stores information needed to operate that group, including:
• Group names and event information
• Group creator and membership records
• Invitations, join information, and access permissions
• Participation and group-management activity
Photos and User Content
Grouped stores the photos you choose to upload so they can be shared with members of your selected groups. This may include:
• Photos captured through the Grouped camera
• Photos selected from your photo library
• Profile photos
• Photo and group metadata
• Reactions, recognitions, badges, and other interactions
• Reports concerning profiles, groups, or photos
Your photos are not used to personalize advertisements, sold to advertisers, or provided to advertisers for their independent use.
Optional Demographic Information
Adults may voluntarily share:
• An age range
• A sex choice
• The first three digits of a ZIP code
Grouped may use this information to select more relevant first-party promotions and survey invitations. Demographic sharing is optional and is disabled for users ages 13–17.
Optional App Activity
If you choose to share basic app activity, Grouped may record:
• An app-open event
• Whether a survey was displayed, completed, or skipped
• The date of that activity
• The app associated with the activity
These events are associated with a user identifier and are used to understand app usage and improve Grouped. Group, photo, camera, and external browsing activity are not included in this optional behavior-sharing feature.
Survey Answers
Grouped may offer optional surveys. Survey answers are uploaded only when you affirmatively submit them. Submitted answers are stored with a user identifier, survey identifier, app identifier, and submission date.
First-Party Promotions
Grouped may display promotions for apps or content offered by Grouped’s developer. The app records aggregate promotion impression and click totals to measure campaign performance. These aggregate totals are not stored with your Grouped identity.
The current version of Grouped does not use an advertising identifier, does not contain a third-party advertising network, and does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Age Eligibility and Children’s Privacy
Grouped is intended only for people age 13 and older.
Before profile creation, Grouped asks for a birth month and year to determine age eligibility. The birth month and year are processed on the device and are not uploaded to Grouped. Only the resulting eligibility status is stored locally.
People identified as under 13 cannot create a Grouped profile or proceed into the app. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

How Grouped Uses Information
Grouped uses collected information to:
• Create and manage profiles
• Create, join, and manage groups
• Upload, store, synchronize, display, and share photos
• Control access to private groups and shared content
• Provide invitations and notifications
• Support reactions, recognitions, and other group features
• Respond to reports and safety concerns
• Prevent abuse and protect users
• Provide customer support
• Deliver surveys and first-party promotions
• Measure app and campaign performance when permitted
• Comply with legal and platform requirements
CloudKit and Apple Services
Grouped uses Apple iCloud and CloudKit to store and synchronize profiles, groups, memberships, shared photos, survey responses, and related app information.
Information may be stored in private, shared, or public CloudKit databases depending on the feature. Group photos are available to the members of the applicable group. Public-invite groups may make group information and content available to people who join through that invitation.
Apple may separately process technical, account, notification-delivery, and service information according to Apple’s own privacy policies.
How Information Is Shared
Grouped may share information:
• With members of groups you create or join
• With Apple when necessary to provide iCloud, CloudKit, and notification services
• When necessary to investigate abuse or protect users
• When required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request
Grouped does not sell personal information, share information with data brokers, or use Grouped information for cross-app tracking.
Remember that group members may save, copy, screenshot, download, or share content after receiving access. Grouped cannot completely control what another person does with content they have already received.
Your Privacy Choices
You can:
• Edit your name, username, location, and profile photo
• Decline optional demographic sharing
• Decline optional app-activity sharing
• Revisit your sharing choices using the hand icon on the Grouped Home screen
• Change camera, photo-library, and notification permissions in iOS Settings
• Delete optional demographics, app events, and survey answers from Privacy Choices
• Delete your complete Grouped account from Account & Safety
Account and Data Deletion
To delete your account:
Open Grouped → You → Your Profile → Account & Safety → Delete Account.
Account deletion removes your Grouped profile and associated cloud data. Groups you created are deleted for their members, and you leave groups created by other people.
Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or the protection of users. Deleting your account cannot remove copies of photos or information that other users previously saved or shared outside Grouped.
Data Retention and Security
Grouped retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, protect users, and meet legal obligations.
Grouped uses reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. However, no device, network, storage system, or internet transmission is completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Grouped’s features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
