Week 4: Aerospace & Chemical Engineering
AEROSPACE ENGINEERING
Aerospace engineering is the type of engineering that designs and builds machines that fly. It is one of the recent branches of engineering that has two majors: Aeronautical Engineering and Astronautical Engineering
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Chemical engineers conceive and design processes to produce, transform and transport materials. Chemical engineers are involved in many aspects of plant design and operation, including safety and hazard assessments, control engineering, process design and analysis, chemical reaction engineering and operating instructions.
What we did:
Throughout this project we built a remote control airplane, a Flybrix Drone and a stage model rocket.
Flybrix Drone
Rocket
Plane
What would we do different to improve?
- We would make our plane sturdier
- We would remake our parachute
Obstacles:
- Hot glue gun
- We had troubles while building our plane
- We had troubles while making the wings of the rocket
Successes:
- We finished everything on time
- Our rocket worked very well
- We could easily make the drone work
- Every member of the group had equal amounts of work
- We kept everything simple
What did we learn:
- Simplicity is good
- Teamwork
