Welcome to the class resource page! This page is designed to provide you with information that will support what we are learning in class. The page is divided into sections based on our lessons so you can easily navigate through the information. The page is updated monthly to add the latest lesson topics and include a sneak peek of what is up next. If you find a resource that we should add, please email me so I can review it and post. An Introduction

Who is MLA and why is MLA important to me? Great questions! This video gives a good overview of MLA and the graphics help seal the deal. MLA is your new best friend!

Pleasant Grove High School's page is dedicated to all things MLA. Some of the areas covered are online citations, general formatting, using Google docs, and understanding MLA style writing.

The history of MLA, what it means, and why people use this format for writing can provide context and background as you use MLA more in your writing. This website gives that foundation along with examples and links. You can visit the page HERE!

Purdue Writing Lab is the go to site for all things writing. The great part is that all the resources are free and give a plethora of examples. The site is easy to navigate and this link takes you directly to the MLA formatting page. This writing lab hosts a variety of options to review the MLA format including examples and other links to guide your learning.

This is the MLA Documentation Guide mentioned during the lesson. It is an 8-page PDF that has everything discussed including charts and graphs to aid in making sure you are citing your sources properly.

What am I doing?

The actual format of your MLA paper has some basic components that can be done before you even begin writing. This video reviews those parts again to help reinforce our class discussion and writing practice.

Citing resources is important when writing a paper that will include the ideas and thoughts of others. This video helps you make sure you give credit even if you are missing some details. CITE it out!

Repeat!

This video reviews MLA and has subtitles. It covers the basic formatting for MLA from title page to works cited. In addition, it reviews some common mistakes that students make and how to fix them.

Core Elements to Citing a Source - This video (see below) gives more details on how to properly cite and the color coded labels give added context to help you make sure you have all the elements. Easy to follow and title cards in case you want to skip ahead to an element where you need extra support. Bookmark this resource if you struggle in this area.

The MLA Cheat Sheet is a quick visual aid to have available during the actual writing of your paper. The sections on the sheet cover the entire paper and can guide your review process before submitting your paper.

Enjoy this resource that breaks down how to cite sources and some common things to consider when writing. The red boxes are designed to call your attention to some parts of the MLA process that can get overlooked and to highlight areas for special review.
