Biotemplating and structural color

In the frame of the NCCR Bioinspired Materials (http://bioinspired-materials.ch) we carry out research on biotemplating organic structures with TiO₂ and Silicon. Moreover, we design ordered and disordered photonic materials by self-assembly to mimic and understand color effects in nature. This work in carried out in collaboration with our NCCR colleagues and Dr. Silvia Vignolini (Cambridge, UK).
