LITERARY ANALYSIS OF THE MEMBERS

whiskers from the world of fantasy

-Bhong Kenric Wagan

I noticed that at the beginning and conclusion of the story, Baldo compares Maria's scent to "a morning when papayas are in bloom". Maria called Leon by the nickname "Noel", which is his real name spelled backward. The text contains unfamiliar terms like Waig, which refers to a tiny stream, brook, or creek, and Camino real, which refers to a major road. Her high-heeled shoes imply that Maria is a city girl. Leon's inquiry about how much she misses the houses, the cars, the people and the noise prove it afterward. Leon said that their father had medical issues with his leg because he had been injured during the Revolution. Ca Celin and Celin, Uloy's twin, are two characters with the same name. The text was written in English which has a slight Spanish influence. I also had the conclusion that Maria's decision to live with her newlywed family delivers an important message, "Sometimes, people need to sacrifice an important piece of their life in order to achieve true happiness."

The plot revolves around Leon's father's judgement of Maria's worth as his son's wife and Maria's fears of being rejected due to her different lifestyle. Maria's attitude, personality, appearance, and behavior to the circumstance are all examined as part of the father's evaluation in the narrative with the help of Baldo. The lesson I learned from the story was that true love includes giving up things for the person you love, and that it's not only about happiness; you also need to respect and cherish your partner's family and lifestyle. It also taught me not to judge people by their appearance as well as their background. Like Maria, who showed the exact opposite of what they had expected by proving her genuine love for Leon and her willingness to fit in with their way of life.

The story of "How My Brother Leon Brought Home a Wife" by Manuel E. Aguilla is a heartwarming story of how love works although it is implied in a novel like the way we can see that it is heavily showing the hardships one must go through. It is a love story about Leon and Maria going to Leon's father to show that they are soon to be wedded. it is impactful with its words because it visualizes the beauty, smell, and feeling through their journey. It also shows that Hardships are meant to be faced with smiles and laughter which is clearly shown in this story. Although it lacks a fitting ending for the story because I just don't feel the sense of happiness in it, it would have been better if it could have ended from Leon's perspective because I would like to end things by making me feel the sense of being lucky to have her not just some analog of the kid admiring the woman and his brother, but the author has his ways of expressing the fluttering feeling of love. Overall all I could say is that even though it lacks some things, the good parts overshadow.

In my opinion, the theme of this story is that sacrifices must be made to complete a journey. To succeed, we must stay focused and patient under any difficult conditions. We should bring the idea of self-fulfillment and happiness with us into every battle. Then, explaining the moral lesson of the story, we should respect and accept everyone's social status in our lives. We have to understand that everyone among us is equal.

The story of "How my brother brought home a wife" about overcoming hardship in life and fears in life and finding peace and happiness in each other's betterment. And not judging people about their physical appearance and giving them space to express themselves and accept them for their differences The entire story serves as a test for maria, each test was to show whether a woman could indeed live in a strangers house for all for love

I was hooked by the story because it showed that there is no classism when there is true love. There is no discrimination between two people who grew up in different places. It showed that two people can accept their partner without changing them. They can adapt to different places and they can be accepted by other people regardless of their culture. It also broke the stigma about city people, that they are arrogant and that they look down to people who live in the province.

The story of "How my brother Leon brought home a wife" demonstrates a man's determination to fight for her love and never give up on his loved ones. Maria also demonstrated her genuine affection for Noel by remaining by his side in the face of their opposing lifestyles. With her pure love, she continues to choose Noel no matter what life Noel has because she believes that if they are two together, they will overcome their challenges. Even if there is a hindrance to their love, it cannot be overcome by anyone. It also depicts a person who loved and was heartbroken because his beloved did not choose him in life. Nonetheless, even though the person he loved did not choose him, he chose to let it go from his heart and mind so that he would never feel the failure of love again.

The story truly showed me that love is unconditional, and I was amazed. Speaking with Maria in the story, who is from a city that is different from Leon, her husband, and his way of life. When they arrived at his home in the province, where Leon was from a less-than-wealthy family, Maria was afraid of Leon's father and worried about whether she would be accepted by him or not. She put all of her efforts and went through culture shock when she first moved there, but she never gave up on him because of her love. She did this to survive and be accepted by his family. Leon is a devoted husband who does everything for his wife, and he never leaves her side. It showed how two people who are in love but come from quite different lives can integrate and cope with the challenges of life. Both of them have romantic feelings for one another, and their past and ability shouldn't be an excuse to end the relationship.

However, from Baldo's point of view, there is also a sacrifice because, like him, we are unable to suppress or control our feelings for others. He only thought Maria was stunning on the inside and out and that she isn't obligated to return his affection. His love for Maria is merely admiration, and he makes the right decision by stopping from actions that could sour his connection with his brother. In actuality, the lifestyles, the love triangle, the prejudice, the hardships, and the changes are all aspects of life that we must face and accept. Without acting, we can never genuinely experience real love.
