DEADLINE FOR LECTURE FUND APPLICATIONS
APRIL 3, 2026
Applications for grants from the Blood, Bigelow, Warren, Shepley, Ames Lecture Fund are due April 3, 2026 in
the Office of the Commissioners of Trust Funds. These grants are for events which will take place between
July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Groups, organizations and individuals are encouraged to apply for a grant
from this fund for lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations, performances, displays and exhibits of an
educational nature which are offered free to Groton residents. Support for ongoing programs is not available
however, special events in conjunction with an ongoing program will be considered.
Trust Commissioners hope to offer diversified events which are of interest to as many Groton residents as
possible. In reviewing applications for grants, a variety of considerations are taken into account:
new and creative programs
type of performance or exhibit
size and type of audience who might attend
appropriateness of date and place where event will be held
ways the event will be publicized
success of a similar event in the past
similarity to other events for which grants are requested
price of the event
ability of applying organization to administer grant effectively
If you have a program idea but it is too early to give the exact dates and details, fill out the application anyway
by the April 3, 2026 deadline. State your idea and approximate cost based on information you can glean from
a similar event this year. Please note that for events involving GDRSD’s students, a signature is required
from the building principal.
Applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office or by emailing the Commissioners of Trust Funds at
trustfunds@grotonma.gov. Completed applications may be mailed to the: Commissioners of Trust Funds, 173
Main Street, Groton, MA 01450 or email to trustfunds@grotonma.gov.
Please contact Karen Tuomi, 978-877-6787 with any questions.
