Applications for grants from the Blood, Bigelow, Warren, Shepley, Ames Lecture Fund are due April 10,2020 in the Office of the Commissioners of Trust Funds. These grants are for events which will take place between July 1 and June 30 of the upcoming year. Groups, organizations and individuals are encouraged to apply for a grant from this fund for lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations, performances, displays and exhibits of an educational nature which are offered free to Groton residents. Support for ongoing programs is not available, however, special events in conjunction with an ongoing program will be considered.
Trust Commissioners hope to offer diversified events which are of interest to as many Groton residents as possible. In reviewing applications for grants, a variety of considerations are taken into account: new and creative programs type of performance or exhibition size and type of audience who might attend appropriateness of date and place where event will be held ways the event will be publicized success of a similar event in the past similarity to other events for which grants are requested price of the event ability of applying organization to administer grant effectively If you have a program idea but it is too early to give the exact dates and details, fill out the application anyway by the April 5th deadline. State your idea and approximate cost based on information you can glean from a similar event this year.
