I’m an instructional designer working at the intersection of performance consulting, learning science, and AI-enabled systems. I’m most effective in ambiguous environments where problems are unclear and solutions require tradeoffs.
Today, I blend three years of corporate L&D experience with over ten years in education and nonprofits to craft performance-focused, AI-enhanced learning experiences that solve real business challenges. I draw on agile frameworks like SAM, the strategic precision of Action Mapping, and proven learning-science techniques—spaced repetition, behavioral design, and the CCAF model—to make every course meaningful, memorable, and measurable.
I began my professional journey with an M.A. in Teaching English, spending much of my twenties traveling, volunteering across Europe, and organizing large-scale polyglot gatherings. That chapter shaped two things permanently: a deep respect for learning as a human experience and an appreciation for cultural nuance in communication.
My transition into corporate L&D was a turning point. I quickly realized that effective learning design isn’t just creativity—it’s systems thinking, behavioral psychology, and business alignment. Since then, I’ve immersed myself in instructional design methodology, Action Mapping, learning science, and AI-assisted learning design. I’m particularly drawn to projects where performance gaps are ambiguous and solutions require careful diagnosis rather than quick content production.
Outside of work, I value discipline and reflection. Swimming, meditation, and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Muay Thai keep me grounded. I’m also part of an expat family community that I helped initiate—another reminder that learning and growth are deeply social processes. Most importantly, I’m a father of two daughters, which continuously sharpens my patience, empathy, and long-term thinking.
If you’re looking for someone who will diagnose performance challenges carefully, design with intention, and create learning experiences that allow people to practice—not just consume information—I’d be glad to connect.
Good fit
You’ll benefit from my work if:
Learning is tied to performance or adoption
Scale and sustainability matter
You want someone who operates independently
Not a fit
Probably not a fit if:
You only need content production
Solutions are already decided
Success is measured by completion rates alone
