Monster Tools ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Grocery Buddy mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you.
Types of Data Collected
Personal Data
While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

Username: An optional display name you choose for Family Sharing.

Device Identifier: A unique ID generated for your device to distinguish you from other family members in a shared list.
Grocery List Data
We collect and store the data you enter into your grocery lists, including:

Item names, brand providers, quantities, and sizes.

Category information and item status (checked/unchecked).
•
Historical data of previously added items to provide "Last Chosen" suggestions.
Location & Regional Data
To provide accurate regional grocery suggestions (e.g., Canadian vs. US brands), the App may detect your general region based on:

Timezone: Used to automatically suggest your likely region.
•
Geolocation: If permission is granted, we may use your device's general location to refine product suggestions. We do not track your precise background location or movements.
2. Family Sharing and Data Storage (Supabase)
If you use the "Family Sharing" feature:
•
Synchronization: Your grocery lists and member information are stored securely on Supabase servers.
•
Visibility: Any data you add to a "Family List" will be visible to other members who have joined that specific family using your unique Invite Code.
•
Deletion: If all members leave a family, all associated grocery data and family metadata are permanently deleted from our servers.
3. Use of Data
Grocery Buddy uses the collected data for various purposes:

To provide and maintain the App.
•
To allow family members to sync lists in real-time.
•
To provide "Smart Catalog" suggestions based on your region.
•
To remember your "Last Chosen" items for a faster user experience.
4. Transfer and Disclosure of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, is processed and stored on cloud servers provided by Supabase. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your grocery data or personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
We may disclose your data only if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
5. Security of Data
The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest via our backend provider. However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Children's Privacy
Our App is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
