Masjid Al-Noor offers an affordable funeral membership program that covers funeral costs through an annual subscription per household.

When and who could be members?

• Membership is open to all Muslims of Grand Rapids.

• If a Muslim brother or sister is new to the city, they may enroll for the current year.

• If one is a resident of Grand Rapids before 2019, membership will be backdated to 2019.

Who are considered members of a household?

• Husband, wife, and children, 25 years (student) and below, and lives at the same address with parents.

• Elderly parents who live at the same address and are claimed as exemptions on taxes are considered members of the same household

Members Benefits

• Allow families to mourn their loved ones without thinking about the expensive cost and processes of burials.

• Handle all paperwork on behalf of the deceased family for the entire process, i.e, from the time of removing the body from the hospitals, funeral homes, ghusl (washing) for the body, shrouding, through to the burial, with zero cost to the family.

• With the family's approval, the Masjid also offers three days of mourning and hosts funeral attendees on the family's behalf at no cost.

• The masjid assists the family with other document preparation, such as registration with funeral homes and death certificates, while maintaining the family's and the deceased's privacy.

• The masjid is available to provide any additional assistance outside of burials if the family requests.
