a) Step Data
GrindCred reads step count data through Health Connect, which may aggregate data from sources such as Google Fit or other fitness providers. This data is used only to calculate credits within the app.
b) App Usage Data
We use Usage Access permission to detect when selected apps are opened. This allows us to enforce app-blocking functionality.
c) Selected Apps
Apps chosen by the user for monitoring are stored locally on the device.

GrindCred may access a list of installed applications on your device. This is required to allow users to select which apps they want to monitor or block.
We only use this information to display apps within the app selection screen. This data is processed locally on your device and is not stored externally or shared with any third parties.

- Enable app usage control and blocking
- Provide feedback and insights to improve your productivity

All data is stored locally on your device using secure storage (Jetpack DataStore).
We do NOT:
- Upload your data to servers
- Share your data with third parties
- Track you outside the app
4. Permissions We Use
GrindCred requires the following permissions:
• Health Connect:
Used to read step count data from connected fitness sources like Google Fit.
• Usage Access:
Used to detect which apps are currently in use, required for blocking functionality.
• Overlay Permission:
Used to display a blocking screen when restricted apps are opened.
These permissions are used strictly for app functionality and not for tracking or advertising.
• Installed Apps Access (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES):
Used to display the list of installed applications so users can choose which apps to monitor or block.
This information is used only within the app and is not collected, stored externally, or shared.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties.
6. User Control
You have full control over your data:
- You can revoke permissions at any time
- You can clear app data to reset all information
- You can modify monitored apps anytime

8.Third-Party Services
Anonymous usage analytics and crash reports are sent to Firebase (Google) to help us fix bugs and improve the app.To generate personalized motivational notifications, limited information such as your credits earned, streak count, and time of day may be sent to Google's Gemini AI service. No personal identifiers, step history, blocked-app list, or health data are shared with Gemini.Your detailed steps, credits history, and blocked-app list remain stored only on your device.
