Born in Frankfurt, Germany to a military family, Briana Taylor grew up exploring many European towns and eating all the glorious Belgian waffles and Kinder Eggs along the way. Her family landed in North Carolina right before she began 7th grade and she has been here ever since (not counting a short stint running around New York City for a year).
Fast-forward to adulthood, Briana is beginning her third year as a school counselor. She obtained two undergraduate degrees from NC State University in Psychology and Sociology in 2012 and 2015. She attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (Aggie Pride) where she earned her MS in School Counseling in 2019.
Operating through a lens of intersectionality and social justice, Briana strives to be the best advocate and counselor for her students and families. Cultural/research interests include body neutrality, food access, wellness and self-care, and healthy relationships.
She is a student of life and is always seeking to learn something new. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, spending time with family and friends, graphic design, and playing Super Mario All-Stars (90s baby).
She is thrilled to join the Grimsley community and looks forward to supporting students on their high school journey!
