Our Story

I’m Stephanie Alford, the founder of Grieve in Love.

I started Grieve in Love after losing my beautiful mother, Sonya, to stomach cancer in 2019. She was the most kind-hearted and loving person I’ve ever known, and her love is what continues to guide me.

In the midst of my grief, I realized how isolating loss can feel—and how deeply we need spaces where we can be seen, supported, and understood without pressure or expectations.

Grieve in Love was created to be that space.

It’s a reflection of the love, strength, and grace my mom gave me, and a way for me to share the practices that have helped me along my own healing journey—like gardening, juicing, swimming, reading, walking, and simply being in nature.

What started as something deeply personal has grown into something I now share with others—so no one has to grieve alone.

Our Mission

Grieve in Love exists to provide a compassionate, including, and healing space, both physically and virtually, for individuals and families, navigating grief in all its forms. We honor every kind of loss and foster connection, reflection, and recovery through therapeutic support, creative expression, and community care.

Our Vision

We envision a world where grief is not silenced, but supported, where healing is accessible to individuals, and where people are empowered to grieve in love, not just sadness.

Grieve in Love aspires to be a sanctuary where memories are cherished, stories are shared, and every person is seen, heard, and held in their journey.

This space exists to:

Normalize conversations around grief
Create connection between people who understand
Offer tools and experiences that feel approachable, not overwhelming
Honor loved ones in meaningful ways

Grief is not limited to one type of loss.

We hold space for:

The death of a loved one, including the loss of a cherished pet.
Pregnancy loss, miscarriage, or the journey of infertility.
The end of a relationship, whether through divorce or separation.
Major life transitions, such as career changes, health shifts, or identity loss.
Any form of emotional loss that deserves to be honored and acknowledged.
