Lithium batteries can be place in a server rack in a horizontal position or place vertical. The vertical placement safe on space and is the most common with small installations.

Lead acid batteries requires proper ventilation and to build up power capacity several of them needs to be connected, this requires a larger floor space than Lithium batteries.
