What a tough week?!This is the only sentence that can be used to describe this week maybe for me only or for others but I got inspired by this design as it has many features (hint: I didn't make the screws and nuts part) this design allowed me beside all tutorials this design was nice somehow to do as I learned to make curves, arcs, rectangles and assemble all of it.it was a very challenging experience and the time with somehow short for me as it took a lot of time to do simple things but I believe I did good somehow not enough or satisfying but was good.
I was inspired by Youtube tutorials to do it.
I used Fusion 360 software which I used to design all of this.
Laser cutting software used for adjustment
The process of design started with Checking samples on the internet and search words used like "Phone stand + Laser cutter"
after this for me I started a hand drawing to understand how I will do it.
I tried many times and I wasn't fully focused I watch many tutorials but it had many problems so I collected some info that can be provided with in a tutorial which makes a good tutorial:
1. Describes the use of shapes and giving hints about how to move from point A to point B
2. Using shapes without excess of details but contain many drawing sketch will be better as excess of details make it both complicated and not applicable for a beginner or a non engineer.
3. Tutorials should contain step by step like the instructor discovers things with us not knows and only guide us.
These are the top tips which helped me to find good tutorials on Youtube.
Used Sketch to Draw a rectangle shape
Used Extrude command to make the shape in 3D
Used Fleet to remove the edges
Used Joint Command to connect the two components Together
The Steps included:
Export the File from Fusion 360 Software as a DXF file
The File is imported to Laser Cutting Software
The Speed and Power of LASER has been adjusted
The File is Exported as AI or RD Extensions
The File then Added to the Laser Cutting Machine and The Machine Adjust within the Wood Sheet
This is the most important part this week so I will divide it into two parts The instructor :this was the joker of this week as the process of mentorship and guiding us how to draw was a very good thing but the delay of the recording lectures was a big drop out of the game but when we are asked about the problems we face and the instructor could show us how to fix it and it was very good and informative than the recorded videos not the help on the desk website itself ( Hint: I don't recommend the tutorials given on the Fusion 360 website as it lacks imagination it only describes by words and not efficiently delivered.)
My Group mates : this part was very important for two reasons first that I have team mates who are having a bad time like me so it didn't make me feel like an idiot and it wasn't repulsive and the second one they shared their thoughts and their trails and most of the problems we faced were common between us and it was a very good thing to share thoughts in my group.
so I turned into two things:Youtube
I searched for similar projects and tutorials and I found some My team mates
we had many conversations in our group chat and we shared screenshots and many questions too and definitely links my instructor at session times
Fusion 360 is a magical tool and I could never imagine understanding dimension in a better way than using it to create 3D objects for 2D drawings
I used cardboard for many things and I had many errors but it couldn't be fixed but with such a tool the whole game is changing.
To Use 360 and I tried to design my thoughts, seeing my imagination comes to 3D models is magnificent.
it was a bad model but lovely that I did it within 15 minutes which is a new record
