About me
Hi! I’m Sandy Estee, licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) serving children in the Omaha metro area. I absolutely love what I do. I help children develop their speech and language skills through personalized therapy that’s engaging, practical, and results-focused. I provide private-pay speech therapy tailored to each child’s needs. Sessions are engaging, effective, and focused on helping your child communicate with confidence. I began my career working in research, building a strong foundation in evidence-based therapies, before transitioning to school districts where I applied my skills directly in educational settings. My passion is deeply personal as I am also a mother of a son with childhood apraxia of speech and dyslexia, giving me unique insight and empathy in helping children overcome their speech, language and reading challenges.

Q: Do you take insurance?
A: No, all sessions are private-pay. Cash, Check, VENMO. I provide invoices that parents can submit to their insurance if desired.
Q: Will you work with my child’s school to support their progress?
A: Absolutely! Collaboration is a priority every time. I partner with teachers and school staff to ensure your child’s speech goals and classroom learning stay connected. With your permission, I communicate regularly with educators, shares progress updates, and coordinates strategies so everyone is supporting your child together, both at school and in therapy. This way, your child receives consistent help and effective support wherever they are.
Q: What ages do you work with?
A: I work with children from a few months old to age 18.
Q: Where are sessions held?
A: Sessions are offered in my home in Gretna/Omaha or via google meet online. This works great for homeschool kids.
Q: How do I book a session?
A: You can book speech therapy by simply calling me directly. Leave a message if I am with a client.
Q: Can siblings attend back-to-back sessions?
A: Yes! I can also schedule siblings together when requested.
Q: How often should my child attend therapy?
A: Empirical data shows children benefit from at minimum 1–2 sessions per week, depending on their individual needs.
Q: What if my child misses a session?
A: Please provide at least 24 hours notice. Missed sessions can always be rescheduled.
Q: How long does each session last?
A: Sessions are available in 45 or 60-minute blocks depending on your child’s needs.
Q: What should I expect during a therapy session?
A: Sessions are one-on-one (no groups), structured, goal-focused, and engaging. I tailor them to your child’s age, interests, and goals.
Q: Will I get updates on my child’s progress?
A: Yes! I provide regular, parent-friendly updates, including tips you should practice at home.
Q: What makes private-pay therapy different from insurance-based therapy?
A: Private-pay sessions offer unmatched flexibility, allowing you to customize the frequency and types of therapy your child receives, tailored precisely to their unique needs and goals. Unlike insurance-based therapy, which often imposes limitations on session length and frequency, private-pay options focus entirely on what’s best for your child, ensuring more personalized, consistent, and effective support. Additionally, private-pay therapy often means quicker scheduling, less administrative hassle, and a direct partnership with me, you, and the school that are committed to your child's long-term progress.
Q: Do you offer tele-practice?
A: Yes! Online sessions are available for families who prefer to receive therapy at home. I use google meet.
Q: What should I do before the first session?
A: Gather any previous evaluations, IEPs, and/or reports if you have them, and let me know your goals for your child. I’ll handle the rest!
