I was born in Parma, where I lived until I started studying Law at Bocconi University in 2018. There, I graduated summa cum laude with a thesis on white-collar crime on the potential criminogenic effects of the profit motive in modern firms. I received a full-tuition scholarship to pursue an LL.M. at Indiana University - Maurer School of Law. During my studies at IU, I specialized in Business & Commercial Law and conducted research in white-collar crime, criminal law and corporate law, which are my main areas of interest. I served in the Dean's Advisory Council, in the Graduation Committee, and in the advisory board to the Maurer Global Forum.
After graduation, I was appointed Academic Fellow at Bocconi, working as a teaching assistant and research assistant in Criminal Law - Module 1 ("Parte Generale") and in White-Collar Crime. I've then started my Ph.D. in September 2025.
I also gained hands-on experience on such subjects by working as a trainee lawyer in white-collar criminal defense in a law firm based in Milan, Rome and Bari, shadowing the firm's attorneys in high-profile criminal trials.
My Ph.D. research project aims at drafting a comprehensive criminal framework for shareholders and understanding their potential role in corporate malfeasance – a topic which is still underexplored, as they are usually perceived as victims, both in courts and in the literature.
I have written some articles on fraud in public contracting, money laundering, fraudulent insolvency, and profit-driven corporate scandals.
