• A level and GCSE Maths teacher with  34 years experience in 11-18 schools.

• Experienced A level examiner.  

• I can tutor to any GCSE or A level Maths exam board specification.   

• Further Maths, IGCSE and IAL, AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Maths. 

• I teach students face-to-face if they are local (mostly Bury).  However, I also teach online.   

• I am a full time school teacher so any slots will have to be in the evening and at the weekend.

• Some points about tutoring online:

  • Online learning can work just as well as face-to-face but the lessons have to be interactive.

  • I use Zoom so the session feels more like a natural face-to-face conversation.

  • I combine this with a virtual whiteboard so we can see each other’s work as we speak.  The notes made can be downloaded as a pdf for later use by the student.

  • For my online lessons to work well, a good broadband connection is required.  Students will also need a graphics tablet connected to a computer. 

  • A decent graphics tablet costs about £55 and I can recommend suitable ones.  It is also possible to use a tablet such as iPad and a stylus.
