THRASH or TRASH is a fun card game that takes little to no skill to play. All you need is come to the table with 4 quarters (no Canadian quarters, please. 😃)
Rules of the Game (Practice round played for beginners)
First person shuffles and does not take a card but passes the deck to his/her right. Next person will take a card and place it face down and pass the deck to the right. The deck would carry on until everyone has a card. You can look at your own card, but none of the cards on the table are to be turned up. Object of the game is not to have the lowest card/cards.
Everyone looks at his card after passing the deck, keeping it face down and concealing their card.
When the deck arrives at the dealer, he/she would also take a card and look at it and place it face down in front of him/her. The deck is placed in front of the dealer’s card faced down card.
The game starts with the person to the right of the dealer either keeping their card, (because they feel it is a high enough card and they STAY) or requesting the person to their right to switch. The person to their right must switch 'except' if they have an Ace. If they have an Ace they turn it over and do not have to switch. The game then proceeds to the right.
The game continues with the person that was switched going through the process to the right - keep or switch except if they run into an Ace . The dealer's card is also to the right of someone and therefore can be switched. The dealer is the last person to play. Since he doesn’t have anyone to pass to, may keep his/her card or take the top card off the deck. Everyone then displays their cards. Remember, cards are NEVER displayed face up until the end of the game. Lowest card/s pays a quarter/s into a bucket at the center of the table that will continue to grow until the end of the game. The dealer is then rotated to the right, and we start over.
The WINNER is the last person to have any quarters. The winner then gets to leave with the bucket of quarters. The winner will bring their bucket of quarters back the following day to make change so everyone doesn't have to head down to the casino to get quarters.
