Yes. Science National Honor Society is a nationally recognized honor society along with National Technical Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and many more. The only difference is that National Honor Society and National English Honor Society are parent organizations. However this does not mean that Science National Honor Society and the rest of the honor societies are any less of an honor society.
Mrs. Magee is the SNHS Advisor, and unfortunately, she cannot be a teacher recommendation. This is done to prevent bias in the selection process of the Science National Honor Society members. However, if you had a teacher who is no longer at GH, Mrs. Magee will write your recommendation as a last resort.
Currently, applications for the 2024-2025 school year are closed. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open towards the end of the school year.
As long as you have your unofficial transcript and you sign the application stating that you will sign up for an AP science class, then you are good. For current juniors, we will check to make sure every member has taken or is taking an AP science class.
