The mission of the Green Hope Dance Team is to inspire, empower, and cultivate a community of passionate dancers who strive for excellence both on and off the dance floor. We are dedicated to fostering school spirit and teamwork while providing a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, leadership, self-expression, and a lifelong love of dance.
Our vision is to be a leading high school dance team that sets the standard for excellence. We aim to create a diverse and inclusive team where every member feels valued and supported. Through our commitment to artistic and athletic excellence, we seek to inspire our school and our community.
The Green Hope Dance Team boosts numerous accomplishments that showcase the talents and dedication of our team. Many of our dancers have been honored as All American dancers, and numerous others have received merit ribbons at NDA and UDA camps for excellence in technique, showmanship, and school spirit. In February 2026, we competed at the UDA National Dance Team Championship were we placed 16th in Pom and 12th in Hip Hop.
Shana Winans is the head coach of the Green Hope Dance Team. Before becoming head coach, Coach Winans was the assistant coach for three seasons. A graduate of Meredith College with a degree in Dance, she is trained in many styles. Coach Winans has been the Dance teacher at Davis Drive Middle since 2007. Beyond the public school system, Coach Winans has choreographed many recreational and competitive dances for various studios. We are excited to have Coach Winans lead our team with her expertise, passion, and dedication!
