Welcome to Art
I am excited to welcome all panthers back to the art room. This year you can expect your student to learn
The elements of art (line, shape, color, form, texture, and space) and in upper grades exploring further into the principals of design (contrast, emphasis, pattern, variety, proportion, movement, balance, and unity)
How to use a variety of mediums such as colored pencil, watercolor, paint, clay, sculpture, collage, and many more.
The history of art and major artists that have contributed to the art movements of different time periods

This year we will be using a digital portfolio platform to showcase student work. It will take about nine weeks for it to get up and running but parents and students will have the opportunity to upload images of their work and purchase thing using their original art work.
Students will be selected based on selected pieces to enter and compete in the Texas Elementary Art Meet (TEAM). More information will come about dates and student selection after the first nine weeks.
